Trauma-informed therapy in Hong Kong.

A space where complexity is welcomed and affirmed

Relational therapy and EMDR for those who are recovering from adversity.

Soft pink and orange sky with faint clouds at sunset

Typically, my clients are young adults or adults in Hong Kong who have experienced (or are currently experiencing) adversity such as stress, trauma, loss, or a difficult period of growth or change. The experiences of my clients are broad, but they all contain an enduring emotional impact that is difficult to shed.

My practice is open to all. I work with people from various cultural identities and socioeconomic backgrounds, neurodivergent people, as well as LGBTQ+ people. My clients are both locals and migrants/expatriates. I regularly engage in supervision to sharpen my sensitivity to the complex cultural, historical, and systemic factors that can be relevant in therapy.

Session Fees for Individual Therapy and EMDR Therapy

I am a trauma-informed therapist, but the types of experiences my clients have had differ from single-event traumas (such as natural disasters or accidents).

I specialize in working with people who have experienced ongoing, repeated, or unresolved adversity or stress. Oftentimes, these experiences are embedded into everyday life, taking on a persistent or familiar quality. Here is a non-exhaustive list of past or ongoing experiences my clients come to therapy to recover from:

• abusive, neglectful, or chaotic childhoods
• trauma related to LGBTQ+ identity
• stress or trauma resulting in chronic pain
• discrimination based on race, sexuality, or gender
• interpersonal or domestic abuse
• bullying in school or the workplace
• sexual or gender-based harassment or assault
• forced migration, trafficking, or forced marriage
• being subjected to an organized scam
• spiritual trauma

Human adversity is varied and complex. What our adverse experiences tend to have in common is an enduring emotional impact.

There is no set list of what is considered traumatic or adverse for human beings. No matter what you’ve been through, if something from your past continues to impact you in unexpected or distressing ways, you may benefit from relational therapy or EMDR.
